In the year of 1960, Álvaro Oliveira was one of the pioneers in the production of cast acrylic sheets in Brazil. A local manufacturer of acrylic windshields to the automobile industry, he had the necessity to produce also the raw material he used, as the Brazilian industry was very primitive and unreliable at that time.

In 1996, after a history of almost forty years in the Brazilian acrylic sheet manufacturing industry, he created, together with his family, the company Dicopesa. 

At present, with a growing capacity of production, Dicopesa is able to supply adequately an important part of the Brazilian market, having surplus capacity and adequate quality to also exporting cast acrylic sheets.
